In this itinerary of 9 Days From Fes To Marrakesh, you will Explore more about the History and Haunts of Fes and Marrakech imperial cities. As it offers a balanced mix of cultural exploration, stunning landscapes, and unforgettable desert and coastal experiences, ensuring a memorable journey from Fes to Marrakech.

 

Itinerary Program : 

Day 1 : Explore Fes

Pick you up from the airport to your  Riad, then we go out to explore” Fez “ one of the imperial cities with more interest in history and handicrafts was founded by “ Idriss the First “ in the twelfth century,   known as the capital of artisans of Morocco.

It is one of the largest cities in the Arab world. Contains schools, the market (amazing in terms of quantity and quality of spices),  “ Karauin “ the oldest university in the world, mosques, Andalusian music, pottery, palaces, and museums. Finally, after dinner, we will stay in Riad.

Day 2 : From Fes to Midelt

After breakfast in your riad, you will leave towards the southeast following the Caravan road to Midlet. During this journey, you’ll experience glimpses of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains. Stopping at the largest forest of  Cedar trees over the Middle Atlas, where you may see some  Monkeys. After lunch in Azrou or Ifran . we’ll continue to Midlt.  The Overnight at your accommodation hotel.

Day 3 : From Midelt to Merzouga

After breakfast, we go from Midlet to the Erg Chebbi Sahara desert in Merzouga. Berber villages are scattered along the way. We will have lunch during our journey in the Ziz Valley or at another local town on the route to  Erfoud.

Erfoud is a city located in southeast Morocco that was built by the French troops after the victory at Tafilalet which ended after years of battle in 1932. Erfoud is a modern Moroccan desert town,  an active city full of commerce, restaurants, street cafés, hotels, banks, handicrafts, and souvenir shops.

It still preserves the authenticity of a true Arab city .also it is a cinematic inspiration for movie directors where many movies have been filmed. including Prince of Persia, March or Die, and The Mummy. 

  Then we continue to Merzouga. After a glass of mint tea, you’ll have the time to relax and feel the desert surrounding you in the hotel, At the end of this exciting day you’ll admire one of the best sunsets in the world. Dinner and night in Hotel Merzouga.

Day 4 : Around Merzoga

After breakfast and shower at the  Riad, you will start an explorative journey of the area. We’ll take the quad bike for our adventure in the Desert Dunes for one hour. Take your quad and cross the Erg-chebbi’s  Dunes. After that you’ll visit the Gnawa people, to listen to and enjoy their music.

Not far away there’s the lake of Merzouga with its beautiful birds. You may also visit the souk  ( large traditional market )  of  Rissani,  Here you could see a lot of men hooded and women veiled. We go back to Merzouga around 4:00 pm,  then we will have a trek with friendly camels to go to camp through the golden dunes of Erg Chabbi.

You will spend your night in a Camp and enjoy Berber music before going for a peaceful night under a nomad tent.

Day 5 : from Merzoga to Dades Valley

Have a traditional breakfast before we take the route towards Boumalne where you’ll stay the night, pass through clusters of palm trees and Berber villages towards the Todra Gorges.  

Walk up the Gorge and enjoy the feeling of being surrounded by such splendor views. See how locals live their lives as you pass by some shepherds on the way to Boulmane.

Day 6 : from Dades Valley to Marrakesh

After breakfast in the hotel, we will drive through The Dades Valley,  known as the  Road of 1000 Kasbahs. We’ll stop at Kalaat Mgouna, “the rose city” famous for its annual festival of roses. Continuing to Skoura passing by a lot of Kasbahs made of mud brick, Oaurzazat the  “Hollywood of Africa”  where some of the famous movies had been filmed ( Sheltering Sky, Gladiator, and Prince of Persia).

Afterward, we’ll drive to   Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, one of the most beautiful Kasbahs in the area. it has magnificent views of the surrounding palms. Before heading to Marrakech via the Tizi n’tichka path we’ll stop to visit the town of Telouet.

Day 7 : Discove Merrakech; the red city.

After breakfast, you will enjoy a morning guided tour of Marrakech “the Red City of Morocco”. Your guide will ensure that you see all the sites with historical and cultural interest, including the Koutoubia Menara, the Saadian tombs; the beautiful Palace of Bahia, and the”  Ben  Youssef   “School.

Finally, finish the morning by walking through the medina alleys and get the chance to admire all of the different artisans performing their crafts before arriving at the famous  “ Jamaa El Fna “  yard to enjoy watching different people doing what we call “ Lhal9a “.  

Lunch at a restaurant near the square. Then in the afternoon visit the Majorelle Gardens, and have a short tour at Gueliz. After dinner, you will have the option to walk through the square and get some entertainment from the magicians, storytellers, and food sellers. Overnight accommodation will be in Riad/ Hotel.

Day 8 : Merrakesh To Essaouira

We will start our trip in the morning, traveling from Marrakech to Essaouira which will take us 3 hours to get there. The narrow streets of the medina show a lot of craftsmen working with jewels and wood,  people there are installed below the bastions of the city, and you’ll visit the wooden crafts museum which is located in an ancient palace. after a little excursion in the beautiful alleys of Essaouira, you’ll have lunch, and dinner will be there too.

Day 9 : Drop off at the Airport

After an early breakfast at the hotel, we will drive you to  Marrakech airport for your flight back home. Your tour 9 Days From Fes To Marrakesh ends at the airport.
